We are all living a life complete with our own elaborate stories, inherited craziness, and complex intricacies. With our own ambitions, talents, opinions, routines, worries, and dreams. We are all faced with our own set of fears, insecurities, and doubts. We all crave a brilliant, bold, daring life full of meaning, fulfilment, and love.
To make something of ourselves. To be of value. To do something that matters. To feel good.
I believe that what separates us can also unite us.
That each and every human on this Earth has their own unique capability to stir up conversation, shift perspectives, and spark change. Our force in sheer numbers is far from deterring, it's empowering.
That there is room for all of us, not just the select few.
I believe that despite our differences, we are the same.
We have all, at one time or another, whispered to ourselves, "I'm not good enough."
We are all equipped with parts of ourselves the we want to cover up and polish over. The less-than-perfect parts; our missteps, failures, shame, guilt, and regrets. We've evolved to come to believe that being vulnerable is a sign of weakness, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
You do not need to change, you are not broken, you do not have to prove anything. Your story, complete with the not-so-pretty parts, is overflowing with raw truth, honesty, and exquisite beauty that will not only unlock the essence of joy for yourself, but it will inspire the people around you.
I believe that life isn't just about embracing our strengths, it's also accepting our weaknesses. It's learning to be okay with the dark parts of ourselves.
We live in a world where we are more connected than ever before, where we have the opportunity to slip into our authentic selves, to envelop ourselves in truth, share honestly, and generate the change we want to see by banding together as one.
You are not alone. You have never been alone. You will never be alone.
Make the declaration today to be weird, ruffle feathers, relate, seek truth, and revel in what makes you awesome. The world is waiting for someone like you. (Why not you?)
A CHALLENGE: This week, do ONE thing that scares the crap outta you. Maybe that means taking a class that you've been wanting to sign up for but haven't, confronting an uncomfortable situation you've been ignoring, seeking help for a project/ concern/ issue, or how about opening up about something that's been on your mind to a friend/ partner/ on your blog?
How 'bout it? I'm here to support you, so please, feel free to take this even further in the comments/ via email x
Share it, print it, save it as your new background, or simply read the words and take a big, deep breath. xx
