This is what I drive past every day. It's amazing how much living by the water can lift your spirits. Even just hanging out by the lake can make me feel like I'm miles away from the busy city life even though I'm still smack in the middle of it all.
I don't know how to explain it but there's just something about it; hearing the sound of the waves move and crash, seeing the reflection of the sun glisten on the surface. It never ceases to instill an overall sense of calm within me, leaving me feeling more refreshed than ever.
I just keep reminding myself to soak it all in, it's all too easy to take things like this for granted. The little things.
I love water too! Any kind - ocean, lake, river...in a pinch I'd take a pool or a puddle ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I'd love to hear rushing water all the time! We have a train that goes past our neighborhood sometimes. It makes me feel peaceful when I hear it, but I don't think it's quite the same thing.
ReplyDelete@KB - That literally made me laugh out loud and I totally know what you mean!
ReplyDeleteI had a VERY small pool at my old house, which I appropriately named "The Puddle" and it did me just fine :)
