I've been a little hush hush when it comes to the wedding so far. The plans are all falling into place and it's getting more real every single day.
With every wedding, there comes the stress. It's bound to happen when you're thinking about so many other people involved. Sebastian and I got engaged last June and even though the topic of a wedding came up beforehand, we never really went into great detail about anything. We went back and forth over where we should have the wedding, when to have it, who to invite, what was most important to us, what wasn't important at all. We skimmed through the pros and cons. We toured venues. I spent way too much time on Pinterest. And our eyes practically flew out of our heads when we saw prices. You know, that sort of stuff.
And now... a date is set and everything is booked!
We're getting married in Punta Cana!
I'll be walking down the aisle with sand inbetween my toes, and the sun on my face on April 24th. Yep, in less than 8 months I will be able to officially call Sebastian my husband.
I cannot wait! It feels like a lifetime away right now so in the meantime, I just keep staring at photos from our resort...
Would you (or did you) have a destination wedding? If you have any tips, ideas, or thoughts I would love to hear them!
Looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow that's so romantic and beautiful! Hope everything goes well to you both! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's our anniversary- that's it. You, Sebastian, Paul, and I are celebrating some April 24th in the future!! Congrats- and WOW. WOW. (I can't get the text any bigger...)
ReplyDeleteI feel like it simplifies everything in a sense. I love that. And wow, does it look gorgeous there! Congrats on your new developments. xoxox, hm
ReplyDeleteI have definitely thought about a destination wedding, but I haven't made a final decision yet. Punta Cana looks so amazing though!

@Jamie I think it definitely makes things more simplified, and I'm all about that.
ReplyDeleteAnd besides, why have one day to celebrate when you can for a whole week?! Hahaha :)
Wow, it looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
=)

This is so exciting! I'm all for destination weddings - they're so intimate and romantic. You really get to connect with your guests on a more personal level.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck and congratulations on your engagement!
AHHH! Destination wedding!!! We "sorta" had a destination wedding. It was 3 hours away from home on a vineyard in Virginia. So, while we didn't need to take a plane, everything had to travel with us. My main advice (that I can give even though we didn't have to fly)?
ReplyDeletePACK EARLY. And start making your packing list now. You'll be so busy right before you leave that you'd forget tiny important things if you haven't written them ALL down. I'm talking, like, your intimates for the wedding night or your future husband's belt and socks). Trust me, we almost forgot a few tiny things.
And don't forget the wedding bands! :)
oh my gosh that is going to be soooo incredible!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I bet your wedding will be gorgeous! :) Can't wait to read more about your plans!
ReplyDeleteI definitely understand how stressful it can be planning. My fiance have finally begun planning, probably within the last two months. However, we don't have anything booked and we are only about 9 months away. We can't find venues that are what we are looking for AND affordable...and we really aren't being that picky! If we could afford to have a destination wedding, I would in a heartbeat, but it's difficult enough planning one locally.
is this the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana??! my husband and I just went there for our honeymoon in July! it is so so perfect and tons of fun. I recogmize our little spot by the pool :) hope you guys have so much fun!
ReplyDeletemy wedding was semi-destination (it was 6 hours away).. m advice- trust the people who are helping you, let go of any stress revolving around things out of your control, and just bask in the sunshine on your beautiful day- because no one will know/care about anything that doesn't work or didn't go as planned..
ReplyDeletei mean, if they DO care, you can just kick them off the island, right?
So excited for you! I know someone who honeymooned in Punta Cana and LOVED IT! I'm excited to follow your wedding planning via blog, Twitter, and Instagram! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Congratulations on nailing that (rather large) detail down! Haha
ReplyDeleteSteven and I debated a destination wedding as well but too many people we loved couldn't make it so we opted for an in-country destination wedding instead! Haha..I'm sure it will be so beautiful!
Yay! My husband and I got married on the beach in Siesta Key, Florida. It was amazing and beautiful and soooo stress free. Everyone kept saying to us "trust me, just do a destination wedding" and so we did! Our closest family and friends were there and it was exactly what we wanted. :) Being able to spend a week with our loved ones instead of just one night (that goes by waaay too quickly) was wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so exciting! Congratulations! That place looks unbelievable and I'm sure your wedding is going to be incredible!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have a destination wedding! And in such an exotic place!
ReplyDeleteThis is where your getting married! It is soo beautiful! I can't wait to see pictures from the big day!
