6 Ways To Be The Best You


There's a lot of new faces in the Between Dreams tribe so I thought it would be the perfect time to dig up this gem to share. This is something I wrote a few months back for a guest post but it's brand spankin' new to this blog. Grab a tea and dig in...
Let's start this off with a bang: The cold hard truth is that we are the only ones standing in our own way. If we want to become the best version of ourselves - overflowing with creativity, abundance, fiery passion, love that makes your soul sing, and topped to the brim with happiness - there's a few things we need to do first.

LET GO
Have you ever found yourself so afraid of failure, intimidated by the idea of looking stupid, or scared stiff over not living up to your expectations that you single-handily brought your (potential) success to a big ol' screeching halt? When it comes to hopping on out of your comfort zone, do you kick off your heels, and book it in the opposite direction?

Caroline Myss once said, "Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that's the one that is going to require the most from you."

Fear will always be there, looming in that dark corner, ready to pounce at the most inconvenient times. Let go of the fear and learn to embrace it. Instead of using fear as the indicator to stop whatever it is you're doing, let it be the shining light to show you where to go. Within reason - don't go walking down any dark alleys in the middle of the night! Use it to let your brilliance flourish, smash through boundaries, and show the world what you're made of! Once you stop being so afraid of fear itself, a whole new world of possibility will be there, waiting for you. (Bring it on!)

YOU ARE COMPLETE
Know that you are enough. (Seriously - read that line again. Soak it in. You are enough!) Fully, completely, unapologetically. Love yourself, pay attention to your blessings, and be grateful for all you have in your life, right now.

Think about the power you're giving your inner critic. When we're feeling our most vulnerable, the mean girl in the back of our head is quick to pipe in. It's time to stop listening to her deluded words and tell her to hit the road! Learn to forgive and laugh at the mistakes you make along the way. Invite affirmations into your world and don't look back. Be gentle with yourself. For the rest of the day, I'd like you to repeat "I am happy, I am enough." and mean it.

Once you crank up the dial on your self-worth meter, you'll become open to receiving the remarkable.

DIVE DEEPER
Listen to your inner guide. Get down to the nitty gritty of what you want and get crystal clear on your desires. Write 'em out, say 'em out loud, scream 'em from the rooftops for the whole world to hear! Begin to visualize what you want and really feel your dreams coming true.

Here's the thing about declaring your desires: what we give our attention to, we attract into our lives. Whether you're into the law of attraction or not, there's no doubt that shunning negativity and embracing bright, shining, bursts of positivity will transform your world.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVITY
Bask in the stuff! If you're like me, you're a sensitive soul who's easily affected by the world around you. Take a step back, out of your life, just for a second, and look in with a fresh perspective. What don't you like? What's making you feel negative? Are you in a job that you don't love? Are there people in your life acting as emotional anchors?

Remember, like attracts like. That means, positivity attracts positivity. Negative attracts negative. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you, chase after the job you always wanted, declare this life as YOURS and take charge!

SPREAD HAPPINESS
Isn't all of this SO invigorating? You are at a crossroads in your life RIGHT THIS SECOND. You are choosing to invite love into your life in a BIG way. Let that love surge in and release it to those around you. Dish out compliments like it's going out of style, offer up your time, make someone's day/week/year, do whatever you can! When we take a time out for some selfless service, we tend to feel happier, fuller, and deeply satisfied. Another bonus? While doing so, you're opening up yourself to receive more abundance in your own life.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE BRILLIANT
Now it's time for the heart-pumping, soul-singing, ready for take off part! You got it - it's time to take action! We said good-bye to our fears, know we're freaking awesome, nailed down our desires, honed in on that crystal clear clarity, we're attracting positivity, and dishin' out the goods. All that's left to do is take action so we can start living the lives we've always dreamed of.

Talking the talk is easy, it's all about walking the walk. Stop saying "I'll do this when I finish that." or "I'm not ready yet." The time is now, sweet one. I believe in you. Don't be afraid to let your brilliance shine.
