From where you stand, you're a tiny speck in comparison to the majestic mountain in front of you, but hell - you're here to stake your claim, you're here to make a difference, you're here to move mountains. All you have to do is get from where you are to the top of that shiny, bigger-than-life-itself peak.
The path before you feels exhilarating. Heart-expanding. Full to the brim with excitement.
It can feel a little big. A little scary. There's that voice within you who shouts out, "Holy crap! What the hell have I gotten myself into? Can I really do this?" You feel your heart pounding against your chest - BA-BOOM! BA-BOOM! Your breath quickens, your body shakes, your mind chatters.
Every cell in your body is lit up, totally electrified, completely alive.
And that scares the shit out of you.
The truth is: the end goal may be the top of the mountain, but that's in the future. Right now? All you have is this moment, all you have is now.
Take the size out of the mountain and just take one small step forward.
Your mind will tell you that where you are right now is so much safer than being up there, where the weather is unpredictable and the drop-offs are far too steep. Choose to go beyond that voice, to test your limits, regardless of the unknown. Shift back to the here and now. The task before you isn't to move mountains, it's simply to move.
Let's take the "big-ness" out of what lies ahead - maybe your 'mountain' is running a marathon, starting a business, becoming a 'pro' at what you do in the world, living a life that is authentically 'you' - I dare you to shift your perspective from the massive big picture and break out the small steps that can be tackled straight away - what does that look like? How does that feel? I'd love for you to share with me in the comments! x
Share it, print it, save it as your new background, or simply read the words and take a big, deep breath. xx
